This outstanding ninety-minute documentary explores the Galapagos Islands from a Christian standpoint. Charles Darwin visited the islands 150 years before this film, where he created his theory of origins by evolution through natural selection. The Mysterious Islands filming took place in 2009, the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth (1809), and 150th anniversary of Darwin's publication of On the Origin of Species (1859). The Christian team of researchers consists of a sixteen year old boy, Joshua Phillips, his father Doug Phillips, geologist Dr. John Morris, and Dr. Tom Ford III. Doug Phillips leads the expedition to answer the question: "Is the Galapagos really a laboratory of evolution, as Darwin suggests, or a glorious testimony of God's creation?" As the team searches for the answer with help from the Bible and Darwin's research, viewers are taken on a exciting trip. The factual information along with the outstanding footage makes this film a pleasure to watch. The Mysterious Islands has breathtaking and up close footage of the animal life in the Galapagos. The Galapagos Islands are known for the animals and the film gives viewers a front row seat to that spectacular world.
