The Dilemma with the IPHONE: A Contracted Carrier
by Shirley Carr "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works," said Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs is Apple Corporation's Chief Executive Officer and without a doubt a great innovator. Through his leadership, Apple has changed the way technology is being done. Nevertheless, shortly after the launching of Apple's revolutionizing device, the iPhone, Steve Jobs has learned a lesson on how things work. In an article for msnbc, Wilson Rothman wrote, "Shortly after the iPhone was launched in 2007, AT&T began asking Apple to limit the use of the YouTube Application to Wi-FI taking a taxing source of unlimited streaming video off of the AT&T network." In the beginning, Jobs had more than a hint that AT&T's network could not support the device. The iPhone was designed to do more than a basic phone. The iPhone functions as a camera phone (captures vision), including text messaging and visual voicemail (receives word and gives word), a portable media player (ability to hook up and deliver what is seen, heard, or pictured) and an Internet client (global applicant), with email, web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity. According to sources, Steve Jobs created the device during a secretive and unprecedented collaboration with AT&T mobile. This collaboration resulted in a contract with AT&T and Apple Corporation. Steve Jobs soon learned that the mechanism that was designed to serve a special purpose or perform a special function had to be connected to a system that was equipped enough to carry it. Steve Jobs, must have never read the story of Abraham and Sarah. The story of Abraham and Sarah is located in Genesis 15-21. The Ultimate Innovator, God, gave Abram (name at the time) a vision in Genesis 15. Abram was past his time in age and did not have a son. God told Abram that he was going to have a son. God also told him that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars. God and Abram were in an unconditional covenant. The bible says that Abram believed God. Nevertheless, In Genesis 16, Abram runs into a problem, how? Sarai (name at the time), Abram's wife was not producing. I'm sure Steve Jobs ran into the same issue in the beginning with having the vision for the iPhone. How do you handle a carrier that is not producing? Sarai, obviously frustrated and confused with not producing, suggests that he tries another carrier. Abram agrees. Abram found out the hard way about a contract. Abram produces with a contracted carrier and the carrier is not able to overcome the pressure. The contract resulted in despise! Can you imagine how everyone was feeling? Nevertheless, in the next chapter, God confirmed his word to Abram. God told Abram that what he was going to do for him was worldwide and God changed his name to Abraham (new identity). God told Abraham that he was going to produce in abundance and that people will be established and rulers will come from him. God told Abraham that He was going to give him territory where he was not even known yet and that it WOULD LAST! The sign of the covenant between God and Abraham was that he was going to undergo circumcision. That is right- God made a covenant with Abraham before he was disconnected from his flesh! God CHANGED Abraham's Name before he was disconnected from his flesh! What if God did not change our name before we got caught up into the things leading to a dead end? Before we got to the dead end God called us more than conquerors! Before we arrived at the dead end God called us Victorious! How do you think Steve Jobs feels in regards to the iPhone and the dead end with AT&T? Sounds like Steve Jobs should have had a conversation with Abraham. Don't you think? In addition, the covenant did not conclude here! Look what God said regarding the carrier! He told Abraham that Sarai will be called Sarah and that He was going to bless her and ensured Abraham that she was going to be the covenant carrier. Sarah was going to be the nurturer to nations and that she would bare royalty from her womb! After God confirmed everything, Abraham had the audacity to fall face down and laugh! Has God ever said something to you that did not make sense but you knew it was from God and it was so crazy-even you had to laugh and pray that God didn't see your face? What did Abraham do after that? It is in the bible and you can look for yourself. In Genesis 17:18, Abraham began pleading for the child from the contracted carrier! So what was God's response? God, the loving God that he is, said, "Abrahamthe one you had under contract is going to live and be blessed but Sarah is the covenant carrier and from her womb will come the son that I will establish my covenant with. God gave him the time for it to come to past and when God was finished speaking He left. God didn't even wait for Abraham to respond! What lesson do you think Steve Jobs is learning about carriers? In the next chapter, Abraham had a visitation from God and we learn something special about the carrier of the covenant that was different from the carrier of the contract! Abraham told Sarah to get some flour, knead it, and bake it! Here is something you must know. In biblical times in order to bake bread you had to grind the flour, knead it, and bake it! Abraham did not tell Sarah to grind the flour. Why is this important? This is important because the carrier was already on her grind. The authentic carrier of the covenant was already a step ahead of what was going on even though she didn't have the manifestation of the covenant. Another thing the carrier of the covenant was quick; Sarah got flour, kneaded it, and baked some bread. Steve Jobs should have been made aware that the one who was equipped for the device would have already been connected to the vision, would have already had the ability to receive and give the word, and would have already had the ability to hook up and deliver what is seen, heard, or pictured! The scripture continues, by giving us more information on the authentic carrier! The Lord, who knows everything, asked Abraham, "Where is your wife Sarah?" Why do you think God asked Abraham where Sarah was? God had to get Abraham to consider the covenant carrier! Abraham answered the Lord by saying, "In the tent". Steve Jobs just in case you are reading this and need some help here is what you never consideredyou never really considered- the towers! Just because the carrier was linked to a tower doesn't mean the network was equipped! The problem with the contracted carrier is the tower wasn't able to handle the network! Now the covenant carrier Sarah was connected to the ultimate tower- the Tent! The tent in the bible represented the Tabernacle. For those of you reading this and don't know anything about the Tabernacle you have to know that it was God's dwelling place and it represented Heaven. The Covenant carrier is connected to the power source that is unlimited! Why enter into contract with a carrier whose tower was not made for what God has placed in you?
