Children Are So Cute
by Nellie Shani

A Sunday school teacher of five year- old kids prided himself in being the kind of person who gave his kids the opportunity to be creative and stretch their imagination.

One Sunday morning he asked the class to draw a picture of God. He handed out blank pieces of paper and crayons and encouraged the children to be as creative as they could. The kid with the most unusual picture of God was going to get a small gift!

Adrenalin flowed as the kids put on their "thinking caps." The children came up with very creative ways of how they viewed God visually. Pictures like a circle, or a scribble of bright colors dotted the papers that the emerging artists were given.

She asked the kids to put up their drawings so that each child could talk about their picture and why they chose that depiction of God.

Each child talked about their picture, then it got to this little boy who had drawn a door, and all around the closed door he drew rays of light. His teacher thought that his picture was very creative. "Why do you think that God is behind that door Mervyn?" the teacher asked. "Because God lives in our bathroom!" "How is that possible Mervyn," he asked wondering what kind of response he would get. "Well, every morning my dad goes to the bathroom door and yells, 'My God, are you still in there!?' "
