God uses ordinary people, like you and me, to do extra-ordinary things for His glory!
by Deborah Morrison Surely you know that God uses ordinary people to do extra-ordinary things. He puts the super on our natural. Yes! God is still using ordinary people, like you and me, to talk to His people, to present His message of salvation, of love, peace and hope, to heal, to help, and to represent Him, just as He used Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Paul, and so many others. Through ordinary people, God shows His wisdom, His mighty power and His glory for His honor. So let me tell you how God used me. This is my story. On April 18, 2000 at 4:30 a.m., the Lord told me to write a book with messages about real life situations. I thought "I'm not a writer." As a matter of fact, I was not an avid reader either and I never considered writing a book of any kind. Now thinking of it, I was the perfect candidate for this assignment because if completed, I would not be able to take any credit. But as I said before, God uses ordinary people to do extra ordinary things. He puts the super on the natural and He makes the impossible possible. I'm a living testimony. Please keep in mind, I'm no biblical or religion scholar, I'm not a minister or pastor, and I've not done any type of formal training or study in theology. Again, this made me the ideal candidate. Why? Because there would be no doubt that the messages I would write came directly from God and I was only the messenger. God is awesome! So every morning around 4:00 a.m. for the next four months, the Holy Spirit woke me-up with a message in my heart. I would get-up and start typing on the computer. My husband didn't fully understand what was happening but God gave him the peace and wisdom to not intervene or interfere. Now, the amazing part of this whole experience was that after writing the message, I would open the Bible and there were the scriptures to match the message. Every time I think of this supernatural event I get goose bumps! Don't tell me that we don't serve a mighty God! You see, you don't understand, I had just started reading my Bible therefore I was not versed in scriptures and I had no clue where to find scriptures, this was all God's doing! I completed "A Time To Reflect" in four months and on July 31, 2000 I submitted the manuscript to The Library of Congress-Copyright Office. Not bad for a person who was clueless. Being clueless was a good thing because it meant that I had to be obedient and solely dependent on God for everything. So then I asked God, what's next? And He directed me to not publish the book. He told me that I was not ready and that I needed to grow in His Word. I was cool with that. Hey, He was running this show and I was His helper! What an honor and privilege to be God's helper! It was all good! In 2007 God told me that it was time to publish the book and He sent me confirmation in different ways. In Spring 2009 the book was published. Alright now! Again, I was clueless but obedient and depended solely on God for direction through the whole process. I can't and will not take any credit. I give all praise, honor, and glory to my Heavenly Daddy with who I have a personal and the most fulfilling relationship with. Yeah! Isn't this awesome? I thank God for using me, ordinary me, in this way. Glory to God! Hallelujah! So what am I saying? God can use anyone for His glory! He wants to use you! Just make yourself available to be used by Him and you too will have an amazing story to tell! Deborah W. Morison rededicated her life to God in 1999.
