The Virgin's Bloody Rose
by abigail huckabee

As a child, i had always been different from the others at school.I was gifted in my own way;however i did not do good in school because my mind was always somewhere else
My parents came from a simple background,
but we had it good-we were loved unconditionally. And then there were those times when it seemed we had ate our last meal, and we had to live by faith.God always rewarded that faith by laying on someone's heart to give us food/money.
Iam not ashamed to tell you this because it only made my sister(Bethany) and i stronger.
Bethany and i were homeschooled for four years, because the Christian school that we went to didn't have learning disability classes.
Call Mom "superwoman."She worked a job and taught us both.
Dad was also a "superhero,"even though we did not get along much of the time, because he was on the road alot with his janitorial business.
The Bible was taught at home and church, but i didn't feel like it was forced down our throats. The Bible is not merely a book but a way of life to the rich and poor alike. The Bible says,"Blessed are the poor in heart(humble in spirit),for there's is the kingdom.
By the time i was an adolescent, i had grown weary of the Bible ,church ,and everything i was grown up to be. I fancied running away, but i didn't know how.I was rebellious. I called my mom a bad name, and i tried to push my dad over.So off to boarding school i went.
"Hephzibah House" (7/9/2002-5/29/2004)
As i entered the walls of that "prison" for the first time, i felt a hate so strong,so vile, that i knew this would be an earthly hell. I just died inside.
Two weeks later, i was sentenced to writing thousands of Bible verses a day(not to mention, memorizing it too.)Little did i know,i would be doing this for the rest of my stay there.
Scrubbing brick floors on my hands and knees,(w/o padding)doing extra work duties, cleaning every square inch of that facility, are just a few things to name.
The crushed rose of my heart lies bruised, broken, and bleeding on the virgin snow.
Iam thankful that they made me stronger;however they did not suceed in breaking my will, because i would not let them, for they, and noone else will break this will in me,because my will is as strong as the roots implanted in a tree.
