One Last Soul to Be Saved
by Irvin Rozier Acts 2 verse 47 "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." There is a gospel song, "Wait a Little Longer, Sweet Jesus", that asks the Lord to wait before He comes back because loved ones aren't yet saved. Yet, one day, the last person will be added to the church, and Jesus will come back to get His bride (the church). Last Saturday night, I dreamed about a beautiful bride all adorned in white. She was holding a bouquet of red roses, and had smaller roses plaited in her hair. As I looked upon her, she was suddenly surrounded by a white light, and she ascended into heaven. I saw heaven opened, and many mansions of different styles and colors. Sunday morning, I went to preach, and related this dream. I then put a compact disc on the player, punched number three (It was supposed to be the song, "God Takes Good Care of Me'), but the song, "Jesus Is Coming Soon" began to play. I preached the Easter service about the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew Chapter 28 and Acts Chapter 1), and how Jesus was going to return some day, suddenly, as a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians Chapter 5, verse 2). As I meditated on these things, I came to the realization, that indeed, time is getting short. Yet the Lord has not returned because there is still souls to be saved. But one day, that last person will be saved, and Jesus will return. Look around. Is that person sitting next to you the last one? How about that elderly man in the nursing home? How about your husband, wife, son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson, neighbor? Preacher, are you preaching to that last person to be saved? Mother, are you praying for your child that could be the last one to be saved? Musicians, are you singing to that last soul to be saved? I have had people tell me that they don't believe in heaven or hell. Unless the Lord opens their eyes, and the Holy Spirit draws them, they will continue to believe this until their day of judgment. Time, I believe, is running out. Every second the clock ticks is a moment closer to Jesus' return. One day, God is going to tell His son, "Son, go get your children". Maybe today will be the day that lost soul is saved. Revelation 22 verse 20 "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. A-men. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Copyright 2008 Irvin L.
