  1. Gender Is Not A Four-Letter Word by Dan Wafford
In the news today is an article about the "Egalia" preschool in Stockholm, Sweden, where they are proud of the fact that they have removed every hint of "gender bias" to insure that children don't fall into "gender stereotypes."

This is nothing less than Satan working his claws into modern society in ever more insidious and deceitful ways.

  11. What really brought down the Twin Towers? by Robert Randle
Although it has been nine years since the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, still this question still lingers in the minds of Conspiracy Theorists; and not without some justification, it seems. The real question remains largely unanswered, namely: Did all these former terrorists from Saudi Arabia orchestrate such a masterfully deadly plan on the American homeland by themselves or did they have help from inside the United States?

  12. SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOF TOPS by Paul Curtis
    I like Germany
    I like the Germans
    I have friends there

  13. Don't throw the first stone like the Pharisees by S Mariah
Are you not a believer under God's grace and mercy? Are you not a believer that we meant to love not to hate our brothers and sisters, we meant to pray, intercede for those who are weak not that we criticize our own brothers and sisters like the rest of the world does!

  14. What do you see Homosexuality by S Mariah
The Bible has mentioned that Jesus talked to that sexually-broken woman at the well.

    I would call her a sexually-broken person.
Many of us, we came from broken family, we weren't have a perfect father that fully represent the likeness of Christ Jesus, and we weren't have a perfect mother that makes us feel valued, loved at all times....We grew up hurting, grew up having low self-esteem, most of us were like that.....and me included...

  15. What do you see Homosexuality by S Mariah
The Bible has mentioned that Jesus talked to that sexually-broken woman at the well.

    I would call her a sexually-broken person.

  17. Rise Up by S Mariah
'marriage' is a holy act, not that we choose
whatever we like, not that we choose whomsoever we marry to. It is a commitment, and most of all,
in 'marriage' both sexes are the reflection of God's image. God has both tender nature and tough
nature in Him. Both female and male are the representatives of God Himself.

  19. Friends of the Earth Middle East says Jordan River not suitable for Baptism: pollution by Peter Menkin by Peter Menkin
In a surprising story to this writer, Ecumenical News International reports it is a bad idea to visit the Jordan River for Baptisms. This will interest San Francisco Bay Area Pilgrims who may be planning on visiting the Jordan River in the near future. Who is the environmental organization? Time magazine in 2008 called the Middle East organization's three directors Environmental Heroes.

EcoPeace/Friends of the Earth Middle East describe this about themselves on their website: Friends of the Earth Middle East (FoEME) is a unique organization that brings together Jordanian, Palestinian, and Israeli environmentalists. Our primary objective is the promotion of cooperative efforts to protect our shared environmental heritage. In so doing, we seek to advance both sustainable regional development and the creation of necessary conditions for lasting peace in our region. FoEME has offices in Amman, Bethlehem, and Tel-Aviv. FoEME is a member of Friends of the Earth International.

  20. Presbyterians study Biblical Theological Reflection to find a way to policy on peace for Israel by Peter Menkin by Peter Menkin
"I believe that the Bible gives us a general view of God's will: those qualities of righteousness, justice, freedom, and peace to which God calls us and which we are to pursue. But the Bible does not usually lay out detailed policy prescriptions for how we are to pursue those goals in modern societies. In an imperfect world where our knowledge is limited and everyone's motives are mixed, we have to make political judgments about how best to achieve the measure of justice, freedom, and peace that is possible under the circumstances." Comment made to this writer via email and telephone-- Alan F.H. Wisdom, Vice President for Research and Programs, Institute on Religion & Democracy.

  21. Presbyterian Church USA Middle East Study Committee recommends Kairos Document adoption for study by General Assembly 2010 by Peter Menkin by Peter Menkin
This article is the third in a series of three on the Middle East Policy Committee of the Presbyterian Church USA paper that is more than 150 pages long and can be found here. It is the final of the three reports in this series, and for readers not familiar with the Kairos Document, a PDF of the Document is found here. This is an important Document, supported by many Presbyterians, obviously since it appears in their recommendations for policy towards Israel, and is popularly support by numerous âpeaceâ groups in the United States, and even in Europe and the Middle East.

  22. Report on Presbyterian Church USA-Israel policy recommendations (Presbyterian study in Christianity) by Peter Menkiin by Peter Menkin
In this first part of a three part series on the Presbyterian-Israel policy to be discussed at the Presbyterian General Assembly in July, 2010, a list of players interviewed is introduced. Mainly, through quotes based on telephone, email, and written documentary material they speak their tone and position in this heated and sometimes angry debate. The two subsequent parts will be about the theology of their committee report, and then about the recommendation of the Kairos Document into the policy.

  23. Some of the story of remembering the Fail Safe point and Russians--imaginary place no longer extant, memoir by Peter Menkin by Peter Menkin
There is an excellent article in the online edition of The New York Times: Surprising Guests in a Russian Parade: American Troops. It is what this writer calls journalism as history.

Here is a salient part of the report in The Times about which this writer wishes to say something more personal making a statement of personal history as an American who served in The Strategic Air Command for four years (1965 to 1969).

  24. Nashville: Somewhere Under the Rainbow by Janet Morris Grimes
Nashville is drowning. Nashville is hurting. Nashville is bruised and dirty, drenched first by water and then by mud. Nashville silently suffered, going ignored by the national media for days, as the waters rose too quickly, receded too slowly, and still have yet to reveal the true toll the floods have taken in lives lost and the loss of property.

  25. Christianity and Climate Change: The Supernatural Power of Faith Over Science by Olufemi Awonaike
Conscious of the fact that planet Earth is God's property, held in trust by man; instead of destroying it, it is imperative for man to play his part to save it by living a lifestyle which is pleasing to God and to use wisely the earth's resources, thereby leaving it better than he met it.

    Physicists pose important questions
    Beneath the Swiss mountain slopes

  27. Should the "Holy land" be occupied by the Palestinians or the Israelis? by Robert Randle
The issue over who should live in the Holy Land cannot be settled by the United Nations or political negotiations, but rather by the Word of God, and if helpful, by the Social Sciences. Since the Palestinians claim to be descendants of the Philistines, then it is prudent to find out who they are and where they came from.

This writer entered into a discussion with an acquaintance friend in San Francisco's Bay Area, and the surprising question Does the Church do anything for Haiti, donate money or such to help with the disaster?

How shocking. Of course, churches of various denominations make donations of various important kinds in money, aid, direct help, and even in action for larger economic questions.

  30. Commentary and report on Carter, God, and 'The Global Scourge against Women' by Peter Menkin by Peter Menkin
In the last month of 2009, former President Jimmy Carter spoke before The Parliament of World Religions as part of The Elder Project. He again has spoken out against discrimination against women, as he sees it, as a once Southern Baptist, a Christian, and as former President of the United States. This is in character for President Carter, known for good Christian works, winner of a Nobel Prize, and who continues in his concern for the American Nation and the world. He is a national figure, world figure, and Christian figure.
