Soul Dance (excerpt) - Do You Want What HE Can Do, Or What You Can Do?

by Tonja Taylor
5/02/2024 / Christian Living

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thought: and  let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your  thoughts,  neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. -- Isaiah 55:7-9, KJV

When searching for the right house in our new city, I heard the LORD whisper to my heart, "Do you want what I can do, or what you can do?"

I instantly knew the answer. He know all things. He is good, and only good, and always good, and always does more than we can ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20)!

I allowed my faith to rise, and breathed out loud, "Yes, LORD, I want what You want! You know all things; You see everything, from beginning to end. You love me, and only have my best interest at heart. I thank You ahead of time for what You are going to do. Hallelujah!"

One of the ways the LORD (Jehovah Rohi, our Good Shepherd, always leads us in right paths, for our best and His glory (Psalm 23).) guides me--and many true Believers--is by peace, or lack of it.

So, when I went to get the process started to buy a house, which just seemed the "wise" thing to do, instead of "throwing money away on rent," I could not get complete peace.  My mind told me it was right to proceed, but my heart was like, Nope, not The Plan!

I know how my faithful Father God has helped me in the past--by either taking away the peace, or alerting my spirit that the total peace and joy is not there.

At the same time, He has also given me astounding peace and joy (that only He can give!) at times when His direction went so against what my flesh wanted to do, that He knew I had to have that, just to obey!

Of course, when I obeyed Him; did what I knew His Spirit was witnessing was right to my spirit, my heart, I've always been blessed beyond measure! Some things may have been challenging, but He always does Genesis 50:20 and Romans 8:28!

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to  bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. - Genesis 50:20, KJV

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28, KJV

He is faithful and good forever, and knows just what we need, when we need it--and He lovingly supplies! Hallelujah!

"Decisions are doors," the saying goes. "Decisions determine destiny."

Yes, that's about as simple as it gets.

However, Hallelujah! Our God is so merciful that, even when we make bad decisions, His Grace is there to pick us up, deliver us from those bad choices, and heal and restore to us the good results that could and should have been!

Glory to God! Only He can do that, and it is His will for us to live the best and blessed life, to His Glory, exalting Him, delighting in Him and His ways, and being beacons of His goodness to thsi dark, needy world, which is crying out and groaning to see the real Christ!

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. - Romans 8:19, KJV

So, as you make decisions, let the Prince of Peace, the LORD Jesus Christ--Who loves us all so much He died for us and shed His pure blood so we could be saved from hell and live in Heaven forever--guide you into all peace; that settled knowing.

However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will no speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.  - John 16:13, KJV

He loves you. He will help you.

Part of faith is choosing to believe when you cannot see or understand. God is a faith God, and when you ask Him for wisdom, wait and worship and read the Word and pray and listen to the Word of God by Bible-preaching teachers; when you want to go God's way and not your own; He will help you be sure to choose the right path.  You may not understand His way immediately, but He is a faithful Father, and He will answer!

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. - Isaiah 65:24, KJV

He will help you to choose His way, and not your own!

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. -- Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV

The LORD God gives every person a free will. When you truly want to please Him and fulfill His perfect Ephesians 2:10 Plan for you, He will help you submit your will to His; to want what He can do!

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. - Psalm 51:10-12

Hallelujah!
